Jalen Ngonda continues to rise with the release of his second single, “Hang It On The Shelf,” from his sophomore album, Doctrine of Love. Working once again with collaborators Vince Chiarito and Michael Buckley, Ngonda bridges the gap between the ’60s and 2026 with something much more than nostalgia. Ngonda’s virtuosic tenor and effortless falsetto are breathing new life into the classic soul blueprint. “Hang It On The Shelf” radiates the kind of groove that would make Motown’s session players, The Funk Brothers, proud. The new song comes along with the announcement that Ngonda will join Olivia Dean on her sold-out European arena run this spring. This high-profile stint leads directly into a heavy festival season—including stops at North Sea Jazz and Love Supreme before he kicks off his own Doctrine of Love headlining tour in Amsterdam this October. Doctrine of Love comes out June 5th on Daptone Records.
