Houston’s Sentury celebrates scoring their second number one hit with “Forever.” They had a good year in 2025 with their remake of Jeffrey Osborne’s “Only Human,” which also hit the top spot on the Billboard Adult R&B chart. The quartet consisting of Leo, CJ, AJ, and Rico started their path to becoming professional singers back in 2011. They sang together in church as teenagers and eventually signed a deal with a major record label. Their plans changed after Leo founded Gateway Records, and they decided to go independent. The decision to defect from the corporation is working for them because the success of “Only Human” makes them the first R&B group in 25 years to have a number one song on a Billboard chart. Sentury’s potent vocals and respect for tradition give hope for the future of R&B groups, as they have almost become extinct. “Forever” is one of nine charting singles for the group that has just added another chapter to Houston’s music landscape.
