The lyrical tribute to B.I.G. gives way to lines about success, culture, youth, and material rewards of being decorated legends. Jean-Charles “JC” Charavin directed the video that was inspired by technology and the financial world. The duo released their highly anticipated Light-Years at the beginning of the year. It was 32 years ago when they first worked together on Nas’s much celebrated debut, Illmatic. Light-Years is part of Mass Appeal’s Legend Has It series that highlighted veterans like Kwamé, Slick Rick, Mobb Deep, Ghostface Killah, and De La Soul.
