“There’s Nothing Like This” is Omar’s 1991 debut single and title track from his 1990 album. The single was originally released on his father’s Kongo Dance label in 1990. It was his father’s record collection where he heard the Ohio Players’ “Heaven Must Be Like This” and wrote the single that would sell 35,000 copies despite him being an unknown singer. “There’s Nothing Like This” got the attention of Norman Jay from Talkin’ Loud Records, who signed Omar to his first record deal. The British singer   previously released “Mr. Postman,” “Get It Out Your System,” “I Don’t Mind The Waiting,” and “You and Me,” but “There’s Nothing Like This” was the single that gave him notice with music fans. The song was re-released in 1991 with the album and his official journey as the UK King of Neo Soul had begun. In 34 years of recording and eight albums, “There’s Nothing Like This” is still his most popular song. Maxi Priest and Beverley Knight have covered the single for their albums, 2 The Max and Soul UKIn 2022, Omar + QCBA Live At Last was released. The recording of Omar’s onstage collaboration with the group QCBA is his first live album.
