Little Simz steps into 2024 with her Drop 7 EP. The unexpected project is the latest EP from the series that saw her share the Drop 6 EP four years ago. The British rapper positions her precise flow over a variety of club beats sprouted from drum and bass, New Jersey, and trap from producer Jakwob. She just won a MOBO this week for Best Hip Hop Act and she has three Brit Award nominations for Album of The Year, Artist of The Year, and Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act. Drop 7 follows the excellent NO THANK YOU which came out in 2022. Her musical output is not her only gig these days as she is still acting on Netflix’s Top Boy. The current EP comes out on the eve of her third decade because she has a birthday later this month.
