The White Stripes celebrate the 20th anniversary of their fourth studio album Elephant with an exclusive deluxe digital version. The remastered audio of the original album has a 27-song live set from a 2003 concert at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom. There will be 2LP vinyl sets available in Red Smoke and Clear with Red and Black Smoke on April 21st. The anniversary is also being recognized with the re-release of the Sofia Coppola-directed video for “I Just Don’t Know Myself. Kate Moss stars in the clip that has been remastered in HD.
A new merchandise store has launched with an exclusive Elephant collection available at whitestripesstores.com. Additional 20th-anniversary items will be released throughout the year. New merchandise collections are also available for Jack White, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather.
Elephant was originally released on April 1st, 2003, and became critically acclaimed while doing well commercially on the charts. The White Stripes’ popularity rose and songs like “Seven Nation Army” and “There’s No Home For You Here” entered classic status. Their fourth full-length collection won the 2004 Grammy for Best Alternative Album, was nominated for Album of the Year and “Seven Nation Army” won for Best Rock Song.
