The Ton3s are reintroducing themselves with their latest full-length outing simply titled We Are The Ton3s. J. Vito, 2E and Tony Lelo were Anthony Hamilton’s backup singers when they were recorded singing a cover of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” backstage. The video hit the internet and soul fans were inspired by their humorous but felicitous crooning. They continued their soulful banter with other cover songs including a jab at Birdman’s famous demand for “Respeck.” The progression of their career as a group had the next step when they received their first Grammy nomination for their 2018 “What I’m Feelin'” collaboration with Anthony Hamilton. Two albums and two EPs later they have returned with We Are The Ton3s and they are in good company with PJ Morton, Snoop Dogg, Sir The Baptist and Tarriona “Tank” Ball. Tony Lelo gave his description of their latest music in a press release:
“Our previous albums catered to the ‘Vintage’ side of our brand. Now, we’re moving more toward the ‘Young’ version of our brand.”
The Ton3s is on the road this summer like most bands and on June 17th they are appearing at the Arlington Juneteenth Festival on June 18th they will perform at the Soul Food Truck Fest.
