Kendrick Lamar returns after five years with Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. Sampha, Summer Walker, Kodak Black and Ghostface Killah are among the guests on the double album that is his last for Top Dawg. He created anticipation for his fifth studio album with the video for “The Heart Part 5” which explored the follies of certain Black men but that song is not actually on the album. Racism, sex addiction and transgender people are just a few of the topics Lamar raps about in his flow that tips between being frenetic and conversational. The video for “N95” is a collaboration between Lamar and Dave Free and he looks larger than life even taking on the persona of a Jesus-like figure.
