Butcher Brown and rapper Michael Millions have collaborated on the reflective “Black Man.” The new single from the Richmond, Virginia band finds them returning to recording after their cover of Patrice Rushen’s “Remind Me” with Alex Isley from 2021. Millions is also a native of the area and his verses were inspired by life cycles. The video is a school scenario with the members throwing paper planes and learning about J. Dilla from a book. Butcher Brown released their eighth album in 2020 and gave an NPR Tiny Desk show last year. “Black Man” will be available on all digital streaming platforms on Friday and the band will be touring the United States for the rest of 2022.
