Hiatus Kaiyote’s Mood Valiant is worked over by a variety of producers becoming Mood Variant. The new versions effectively turn the one album into two. Stro Elliot, Nick Hakim, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Mindsgn are among the remixers to reshape the band’s third album. The remixes are molded by soul, house and funk each song is a new surprise. The decision to recast the goodness of Mood Valiant transformed the winter album into one that is now introducing spring. Mood Valiant also received a Grammy nomination for Best Progressive R&B album. If you are in the Los Angeles area you can see Hiatus Kaiyote with Flying Lotus and orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl on August 21st. Their European tour will start in September.
