Toro y Moi announces a new album and record deal with the label Dead Oceans. He released nine albums for Carpark with the last one being Outer Peace from 2019. His journey is noted for the rise of the chillwave genre but he also made house and rock albums over the course of the past decade. The joining of the Dead Oceans family has him rejuvenated and he said,

Toro y Moi’s eclectic past makes the idea of new music from him a curious question. The lack of predictability has made him one of the most intriguing artists of his generation. The Dead Oceans debut album has no title yet but is due next year.Â
