Marlon McClain is animated for the funky rhythm guitar fest that is “Get Down” featuring New York rapper BD3. A simple trip to the grocery store offers a potential romance among the aisles offering Get Down cereal. It is the second collaboration for McClain and BD3 who worked together on “Ain’t No Stoppin Now” released earlier this year. The song is a bittersweet moment for McClain because it is one of the last ones produced by friend Ralph Stacy who passed two months ago. The legendary jazz fusion keyboardist Jeff Lorber is also playing on “Get Down.” McClain’s single, which recalls some of the flavor of Ray Parker Jr., has the warmth of Indian summer coming from its funk meets hip-hop core.Â
