Sa-Roc’s The Sharecropper’s Daughter Deluxe edition is out now and has six new songs. One of the highlights of the deluxe version is an unheard verse from the late MF Doom on “The Rebirth.” She’s also debuting her video for “Wild Seeds” which is inspired by Octavia Butler’s sci-fi novel Wild Seed. Women like Sojourner Truth, Queen Nanny and Harriet Tubman are celebrated in “Wild Seeds.” The Aliza Brugger-directed video has a guest appearance from holistic health guru Queen Afua. Sa-Roc says,Â
“Just like wild seeds, we remain unfettered and unbroken, adding beauty and immeasurable value to a world that chooses not to acknowledge us but our very existence is the only acknowledgment we require.”
The six songs will be available on a bonus vinyl version scheduled for release on August 20th but can be pre-ordered now. The Sharecropper’s Daughter: Bonus Vinyl will be pressed on multi-colored vinyl and housed in a gold foil laminated jacket. Sa-Roc will be performing at Lollapalooza 2021 and Cali Roots Festival 2022.Â
