Producer Will Coloan aka Brennan Williams reconstructs Stevie Wonder’s “Black Man” in honor of Wonder’s message during the pandemic and worldwide fight for social justice. Coloan remixed the song with an Afrobeat aesthetic inspired by Fela Kuti’s politically driven Zombie album. He says, “Overall, I want the remix to serve as a beacon of light, empowerment, and a celebration to all black men and mothers of black boys across the globe.” “Black Man” is on Stevie Wonder’s groundbreaking Songs In The Key Of Life double album from 1976. Coloan sees how Wonder’s sentiments 44 years regarding the looked over achievements of Black men are still having reverberations today.
