[youtube id=”gFkYiItpcYs”]Robert Glasper is working on a new project he calls Fuck Yo Feelings and starting another residency at the Blue Note in New York City. In the video, he explains how the new music came together with a host of musicians including Chris Dave, Derrick Hodge, Bilal, Denzel Curry, Herbie Hancock and more. He says the title is for anyone who can’t handle his choice to address current issues in the world. Glasper also talks about jazz music’s origins in clubs and brothels before it was given highbrow status. In the midst of creating his Fuck Yo Feelings, he is returning to the Blue Note for a monthlong residency on October 3rd. Esperanza Spalding, Terrace Martin and Yasiin Bey are among the artists who will make appearances. There are tributes planned for Stevie Wonder, J. Dilla and Roy Hargrove.
