Common’s 12th studio album Let Love is out today. The new music takes a lot of direction from his recently-released memoir Let Love Have The Last Word. The rapper and actor shared a new level of vulnerability in the book and music with his recent admission that he was molested as a young person and opening up about some of his most challenging times as a parent. Swizz Beatz, Jill Scott, Dwele, Samora Pinderhughes and Leikeli47 are some of the guests to appear on Let Love. Common conceptually leads the 11 songs through different kinds of love; self, community, family and romantic but his parting words are for the spiritual kind as he believes that only a higher power like God can be the ultimate healer.Â
