Missy Elliott releases her five-song Iconology EP after a 14-year break. Her last full-length album was The Cookbook from 2005. She shares production credits with Timbaland and Wili Hendrix. There is one guest appearance from vocalist Sum1. Missy is having a busy year with her recent contribution to Lizzo’s “Tempo,” becoming the first woman hip-hop artist inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame and on Monday she receives the long overdue MTV Video Vanguard Award. She also received an honorary doctorate in music from the Berklee College Of Music. Elliott’s visual innovation continues with her video for the cosmic trap-influenced “Throw It Back” that has a cameo from Teyana Taylor.
