Channel Tres’s music is modern hip-house taken from the ’90s and updated with trap beat triplets and the kind of atmospherics that would make Larry Heard proud. The Los Angeles native emerged in 2017 with his single “Controller” that was followed by a self-titled EP in 2018. His Black Moses EP is new and his deep house and hip-hop swagger is still intact and there are echoes of Moodyman and West Coast rap. JPEGMAFIA is the lone guest on the five-song EP.
