Kongo Dia Ntotila is a six-piece London-based jazz band. Their sophomore album 360º is a tribute to various styles of African dance music. The title track is an obvious ode to late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti with its syncopated horn stabs and James Brown hard-hitting beats. They are also inspired by London’s current African urban music scene and Latin groove, blues and reggae can be heard on the album. The band has a concert Saturday (May 18) in London at Rough Trade East.Â
