Bounce TV’s Brown Sugar channel will honor the queen of action movies Pam Grier’s 70th birthday in May with a collection of her movies. Grier’s Coffy, Sheba, Baby, Friday Foster, The Big Bird Cage, The Big Doll House and Women In Cages will stream on the channel. It was during the 1970s when Grier became famous as a fierce and physical onscreen heroine with style. Her characters were fearless and would take on any villain with force and feminine power. Grier’s work paved the way for every woman who played an action hero after her including Angelia Jolie, Michelle Rodriguez, and Gal Gadot among others. She soared again in the ’90s with Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown that was created just for her. Grier will celebrate her birthday next month with Brown Sugar’s programming dedicated to her and she will also be seen in the new movie Poms which opens on May 10th.
