New York City disco band Escort connects again with legendary flute player Brian Jackson and this time it’s for the single “Ride.” The band is getting ready for the release of their new album, City Life on April 12th. Their sound goes back to the dance music played in New York during the late ’70s and early ’80s. Jackson is known for his famous solo on Gil Scott-Heron’s “The Bottle” and he worked with Escort on their 2015 album Animal Nature. Adeline Michèle, who has gone solo, was their lead singer at the time but Nicki B has taken over that role. Adeline does appear on some of the songs from City Life and there is an appearance from club legend Fonda Rae on the title track. Escort will go on a small tour starting April 17th in support of City Life.Â
