Tracee Ellis Ross and Kumail Nanjiani announced the 2019 Oscar nominations Tuesday morning from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater. Marvel Studio’s Black Panther received seven Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Sound Editing, Production Design, Sound Mixing, Original Score, Original Song and Costume Design. Black Panther is the first comic book movie to get Best Picture Oscar nomination. The film became the highest earning film of 2018 in the United States and the second highest worldwide.Â
The 91st Annual Academy Awards will broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on February 24, 2019.
