Partners Camille and Teddy hang out in a dark basement as she sings about being a celebrity from the past as they share champagne. A birthday cake with five candles for “Billie” is on the table with and balloons little the floor. NUEX’s video manages to convey the same kind of intense emotion as the audio. The song is a look at the world of celebrity and the reference is to the late jazz singer Billie Holiday. They try to tap into Holiday’s suffering as a drug addict and an artist who sought the spotlight right up until her death handcuffed in a hospital bed. NUEX released their Affectus EP earlier this year in the spring.
