On October 19th Maimouna Youssef will perform music from her new album Vintage Babies at Harlem Stage. Ms. Youssef aka MuMu Fresh has been busy all year after a performance with August Green for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series and the completion of Vintage Babies. She has collaborated with DJ Dummy The Genius on the new music that has appearances from TDE’s SIR, Common, Ra Brown and Malik Yusef. The first single “Shine Your Light” has already ascended at number six on the UK Indie music charts. The DC-based singer is also a musical ambassador for the United States and just finished touring Central America. Last year she had a cameo in Girls Trip and a song with Oddisee on the Queen Sugar soundtrack. Youssef has continued to spread her sound around the world since she gained notice for her Grammy-nominated feature on The Roots’ “Don’t Feel Right” in 2007. Her 2011 single “I Got A Man” from her The Blooming debut album became the theme to the popular BET show Being Mary Jane.

The concert at Harlem Stage will open with a set from DJ Beauty And The Beatz. Tickets are still available for the show.
