Noname’s Room 25 came out today and it is a lovely successor to her Telephone mixtape. She raps about her skills, colonization and being free in America among the layer of topics. Her two-year break has her rhymes stacked heavier and provided more confidence in her mellow delivery. Noname works with fellow Chicagoan Phoelix again who produced all the songs on Room 25. She credits her exposure to comedians in Los Angeles for the comedic elements on the album. The title also refers to the fact that she lost her virginity at age 25 and she says that influenced the more explicit tone of the record. She will kick off her North American tour for the album in January.Â
