Prince’s famous vault has been opened since his 2016 passing and this month Piano And A Microphone will be released by his estate. Fans have already heard his haunting cover of “Mary Don’t You Weep” and today you can listen to “Why The Butterflies.” The song is a sketch of a song with Prince working out his ideas on the piano. The lyrics were unfinished but there is still something to be heard when Prince is creating at whatever stage. All of the songs for the new album were recorded on cassette at his Kiowa Trail home studio in 1983. Prince was having success with his 1999 album and was getting ready to become a bona fide worldwide star with Purple Rain when he recorded these songs. Piano And A Microphone comes out September 21st.Â
