Kandace Springs’ returns two years after her debut album Soul Eyes with her new project Indigo. Karriem Riggins-produced most of the album that reflects Springs’ appreciation for pop, jazz and R&B. The singer and piano player co-wrote some of the songs, covered some classics and went contemporary with Gabriel Garzón-Montano’s “6 8.” She explained her style choices to uDiscover Music:
“I grew up on jazz, it’s in my soul. I was going to be a jazz artist and then my dad said, ‘You’re not just a jazz artist, you’re a hybrid.’I’d love to do a pure jazz album of covers. That would be cool.â€
Indigo is retail available and Springs is currently touring the United States.Â
