The film chronicles the band’s rise to success in the ’70s and ’80s. Mercury’s extraordinary abilities as a vocalist, his songwriting and colorful stage presence made Queen one of the greatest rock bands ever. Mercury left the band to pursue his solo career ambitions but returned before their famous Live Aid performance. The celebration of Queen is the ultimate aim of the film but Mercury’s AIDS diagnosis and subsequent death is also in the film. Bohemian Rhapsody opens in theaters November 2nd.Â
