Chaka Khan is ending her 11-year hiatus and getting ready to release a new album. Switch from Major Lazer worked with Khan on “Like Sugar” which leads the way with a video of dancing people on a rooftop. Khan was last heard from on Funk This in 2007 which had the Mary J. Blige collaboration “Disrespectful.” She has not had a full-length project since 2007 but she has appeared on songs with Beverley Knight, Herbie Hancock and the 2017 “Soul Survivor” single with Tieks and Popcaan. The release date for the album has not been revealed but Khan is on tour this summer and the surprise of “Sugar” opens up questions and creates anticipation for the entire album.
