Reuben Alexander’s sweet soulful pop vocals offer an Old School sound reminiscent of ’70s and ’80s soul. His newly released video for “Always There” is a day in his life from making dinner to writing a song at the piano. The California native has been busy with the success of his Livin Out Loud band formed with his sibling and the beginnings of his solo career. The group is popular in the U.K. and have been called “America’s best-kept secret” by the media and went on a sold-out tour with Ne-Yo. Alexander’s previous single, “I Can’t Stop” has been streamed over one million times and gave him the opportunity to be the opening act for British soul legend Beverley Knight. His new song “Always There” is a prelude to the release of his In Reality album later this year. The singer had the chance to work with Grammy-winning producer Josh Stevens on the music that has influences of soul, funk, pop and R&B. Alexander described the spontaneity of his creativity in a press release:Â
“The songs can come from anywhere at any time. I’ve had it happen in dreams and I record it right away. I can be in the shower, in the car or walking and something hits meâ€
