[youtube id=”Z84rtbVbIEQ”] Angelique Kidjo reworks “Once In A Lifetime” by the Talking Heads and starts an office party in the video. The song is part of the Talking Heads’ Remain In Light album that Kidjo has completely done over in her style. Office workers come out their dull routine when her image comes across their device screens. Kidjo soon has everyone dancing instead of working as if they were freed from bondage. For the album, she takes the original material and changes the lyrics that she sings in African languages. Kidjo told Rolling Stone that she discovered the Talking Heads in 1983 when she left her home country of Benin and was exiled in Paris. She said that their music was described as rock and roll but she could hear African influences. Bryne and the group admitted to being fans of Fela Kuti and African rhythms in general. Remain In Light comes out June 8th.
