The Texas native wears her confidence out front in the way she struts in the club with her troupe of dancers who all look different from one another in shape and size. Women with full figures are constantly castigated for their appearance but Lizzo gives body shaming no power as she wears her frame with pride. She references Beyonce and Donna Summer and makes sure to tell the camera with a sign that her overall presentation that includes a skin-tight outfit is for her own self-actualization and no one else. Lizzo’s “Fitness” visual and lyrics feel more like a movement than just another song. The artist is currently touring the United States.Â
