OWN’s Queen Sugar will return for season three May 29th and May 30th at 10 PM ET. Show creator, Ava DuVernay has a different group of women directors for the new season including DeMane Davis, Patricia Cardoso, Shaz Bennett, Maria Govan and Lauren Wolkstein. There will be additional names announced at a later date.Â
On March 30, Queen Sugar’s second season will stream exclusively on Hulu. Those who have missed the last storyline developments can catch up before the premiere of season three.Â
Queen Sugar was named Television Show of the Year from the American Black Film Festival and African American Film Critics Association. The show follows the trials of the Bordelon family who have become the first Black owners of a sugar mill in Louisiana. Their internal problems and those with their surrounding community have given OWN one of its most popular shows along with Greenleaf.Â
