Grace Jones: Bloodlight & Bami will open nationwide in April with the first screenings taking place in New York. Sophie Fiennes’ critically acclaimed documentary about Grace Jones debuted at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival.
On April 13th, the film will open in New York at Metrograph, BAM, and the Film Society Of Lincoln Center. It will move to Los Angeles on April 20th and San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Boston, Houston, Philadelphia, DC, Miami and Detroit will follow.
Fiennes filmed the documentary over several years and it features Jones performing “Slave To The Rhythm,” “Pull Up To The Bumper” and more. Viewers also get to see Jones’ everyday life as a mother, daughter, sister, lover and grandmother. Her life from childhood in Jamaica until the present is explored through Fiennes’ lens.
