Mary J. Blige has two Oscar nomination for Dee Ree’s Mudbound. She is being recognized for the Best Supporting Actress role and “Mighty River” is nominated for Best Original Song. Blige co-wrote “Mighty River” with Raphael Saadiq and she has become the first person to be nominated for a performance and song in the same year and film. Rachel Morrison is the first woman to be nominated for cinematography for her work on Mudbound.
