Director X is currently speaking with Sony Pictures about a remake of  Superfly with Trevor Jackson as the lead. Joel Silver is the producer and Alex Tse is writing the screenplay. The original film was directed by Gordon Parks Jr. and starred the late Ron O’Neal as Priest Youngblood. Curtis Mayfield’s soundtrack to the movie is one the most important soul records ever. Director X made his name directing some of the biggest hip-hop videos for the likes of Jay-Z, Drake, Nicki Minaj and more.
