Podcaster and hip-hop historian Combat Jack died last night of colon cancer at age 48. Jack is known for his popular show that also has TV component. Jack who was born Reggie Ossé started working in the music business as a legal intern for Def Jam. As an attorney, he represented Roc Nation, Jay-Z, Ski Beatz and others. He wrote the book Bling about hip-hop’s obsession with jewelry and at one time was the managing editor of The Source. His Combat Jack podcast was known for his historical anecdotes about hip-hop and interviews with luminaries like of Chuck D, Rza and more. Jack announced his diagnosis in October via Twitter.
