[youtube id=”qx3rka4C3xE”] The five members of T-Connection formed together as a group in their native Bahamas in 1975. They moved to Miami in 1976 and signed a contract with Henry Stone’s TK Records. The band’s mix of funk, pop, jazz and R&B earned them hit songs with “Disco Magic,” “Do What You Wanna Do” and “Everything Is Cool.” Â Their single “Groove To Get Down” has been mined by producers like DJ Jazzy Jeff and Marley Marl. “The Best Of My Love” became their signature slow song that became popular on Quiet Storm radio playlists. T-Connection disbanded in 1985 but returned to performing live in 2011 when they had a gig in the Bahamas for SAC’s class of 1971 event.
