Netflix has canceled The Get Down after one season. Baz Luhrmann’s series about the beginnings of hip-hop and the political tension in the Bronx just released the second-half of season one last month. It was previously noted that The Get Down was one of Netflix’s most expensive shows with a total cost of $120 million for the first season. The high price was attributed to delays in the pre-production and production process. Luhrmann told fans of the show on Facebook that the cancellation was the result of his inability to work on The Get Down full time.
