J.Period’s collaboration with Black Thought, Posdnuos, Pharaohe Monch and Joss Stone for “RISE UP!” is the lead song from his RISE UP! EP coming out May 2nd. The DJ/Producer wanted to explore the meaning of resistance and the state of the union. The three of them give words to the division in the country while Stone sings backup and the song ends with a sample of Dr. King urging people to stay committed to the movement.
