[youtube id=”uunn8xkOJJA”] Nas has created his own version of Gil Scott-Heron’s “Angel Dust” for season two of Netflix’s The Get Down. The series takes places in the Bronx during the emergence of hip-hop in the ’70’s and there is an up-close look at how drug culture and the music were intertwined. Gil Scott-Heron sang about his addiction to Angel Dust in 1978 and Nas raps about the destruction it caused in urban America over the original track. The Get Down II soundtrack will be released April 21st.
