Chicago producer Thelonius Martin shows his respect for J.Dilla today with the album A Dozen For Dilla. Â Martin made sure to release the project today because it would have been J.Dilla’s 43rd birthday. Martin samples of Dilla’s voice and work in the 12 instrumentals to show his love for Dilla’s sound and to acknowledge the influence on his work. Martin, who is known for his work with Curren$y has stated in the past that his love for music began when he heard a Dilla song at age 14 on an Adult Swim show.
