San Franciso-based rock duo The New Up are getting ready to drop their debut album, Tiny Mirrors in a few weeks. “No Fly Zone” is an impassioned appeal about denouncing the things that separate people against a palette of moody guitars and synthesizers. Noah Reid and ES Pitcher have been recording as The New Up since they met at a music festival years ago and Tiny Mirrors is their first recording with an outside producer (Jack Frost). Pitcher had this to say about their sound, “The music that we love—the music that really speaks to us—takes risks and makes an impact, and there seems to be less of that in this day and age. We wanted to bring back that punk-rock edge with a message of equality and peace reminiscent of Bob Marley and U2, but with our own unique sound.† The New Up is giving a free show this Friday at Yolo Brewing Company in Sacramento, California and they have other shows coming up after the release of Tiny Mirrors which can be pre-ordered at their site.
