The quartet of Freaky Tah, Mr. Cheeks, Spigg Nice and Pretty Lou all came from South Jamaica, Queens and quickly mastered some of the biggest party songs of the era. Easy Mo Bee produced “Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz & Benz” and a total of three songs on the album that also had production work from Pete Rock, Big Dex, Mr. Cheeks, Tim Dawg, Mr. Sexxx, Dwarf The Black Prince and Charles Suitt. Legal Drug Money had five hits and reached Gold status making it their most successful album. Their three-album output was cut short when Freaky Tah was murdered in ’99. Mr. Cheeks, who was mentored by his uncle Gil Scott-Heron,  had solo success with his John P. Kelly album in 2001 and the single “Lights, Camera, Action!” In 2004, Spigg Nice was sentenced to 37 years in prison for a string of bank robberies. In 2016, Mr. Cheeks released the single, “What’s Wrong With You.”
