Julie Dash’s Daughters Of The Dust is having its 25th anniversary and just had a highly publicized restoration by the Cohen Media Group.  The movie is screening around the country in celebration of the anniversary. Beyonce’s Lemonade visuals referenced Dash’s film and made it re-enter pop culture. Dash’s feature set in the early part of the 20th century about the life and culture of the Gullah Peazant family was the first film from an African-American woman to get a wide release.
