Illa J originally recorded the song “French Kiss” with Phife Dawg for his album but Phife also wanted it for his album. They couldn’t agree so the song was used for Illa J’s current album without Phife’s verses. This week Illa J posted about the Potatohead People-produced song and shared a snippet of it on his Facebook page. He also announced that the version of “French Kiss” with Phife is available now from Smokin’ Needles in limited edition blue and orange vinyl with “Nutshell” and an alternate version of “Dear Dilla.”
