Today Jay-Z released the song titled “Spirituality” in response to the recent police killings of Alton Sterling in Louisiana and Philando Castile in Minnesota. In the lyrics, he addresses his humanity by reminding the listener “he is not poison” but he also talks about the rampant molestation that occurs in so many households but is silenced. Jay-Z started writing the song a year ago but chose to finish and share it now because of the police brutality issue. “Spirituality” was posted to his Tidal streaming service but it is available to everyone.
