Afropunk Announces The Second Inaugural Afropunk Paris

Afropunk just announced their 2nd Annual Afropunk Paris event and the full lineup. The festival will take place June 3rd, 4th and the 5th at the Le Trianon in Paris. Saul Williams, Angel Haze, Cakes Da Killa and Michael Kiwanuka are confirmed with more TBA. Afropunk is also bringing the first ever Race Music Event to Paris on March 22nd along with an Afropunk Battle of the Bands. The Race Music event is named after Race Records, which was the term used to categorize music marketed to African-Americans from the 1920s-1940s. The focus of the event is on African-American history from segregation up until today and the music that accompanied each of those eras. The Race Music series has events in New York and Atlanta and each instance ends with a film about African-American history and a related performance. Buy tickets for Afropunk Paris here .
