After the short existence of the Black Music Awards in the mid-’90’s, Kanya King and Andy Ruffell created the MOBOs in ’96 to recognize artists making music of Black origins. Omar was interviewed on the red carpet this year and asked what the MOBOs mean to him before his performance with Courtney Pine. Fka Twigs, Cee-Lo Green and Lianne La Havas were some of the performers this year and you can view the show at the MOBO site.
