Chaka Khan first recorded Jimi Hendrix’s  “Little Wing” with Kenny Olson on the Power Of Soul: A Tribute To Jimi Hendrix album in 2004. Okayplayer recently unearthed another version of “Little Wing” that she recorded with guitarist Eric Gale  in Los Angeles and Brooklyn. Her love of Hendrix was evident again when she covered “Castles Made Of Sand” on her last album, 2007’s Funk This. Khan is one of the nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 2016 class and you can vote for her until December 9th by clicking here.
